1 month, for real

carter brian,
mommy can't believe that it's been one month since you became a part of our lives! one part of her feels like time is just flying by and the other part of her feels like life has always been this way. it's kinda funny because i feel the same way about your daddy. :) however, there is one thing that is for certain...
you're still a sweet, sweet boy.
some nights you are even sweeter than usual and give mommy a break and only wake up for one feeding in the middle of the night. only one nighttime feeding means EVERYONE gets four straight hours of sleep! it's amazing! sadly, mommy hasn't figured out the secret to making this happen on a consistent basis, but she hopes to in the near future!
you're eating very well and growing before our eyes! daddy weighed you today using our kitchen scale (and a pink lid to one of mommy's baking pans) and you were 9lbs 2ozs! no wonder you wear o'boobigan's out! now, what's "o'boobigan's" you may wonder. well, "o'boobigan's" is your daddy's nickname for your food source. he stole the name from an irish pub we passed on the way to heather voltz's (now vaughan's) wedding in treasure island when you were just two weeks old. and in case you don't believe me, here's the proof!
even though you're eating well and getting bigger, you're still in newborn size diapers and can still fit into your newborn size onesies--but you're getting a little too long for them i think. it's only a matter of time before we move you to 0-3 month onesies! mommy can't wait for that...she's getting tired of dressing you in the same 7 newborn onesies. ;)
on saturday you were able to fit into a 0-3 month pair of plaid overalls (over a newborn onesie). you looked SO CUTE on our first adventure to the brandon mall! too bad mommy didn't take a picture... shame on mommy...(but mommy did get this really cool photo of daddy by accident, so she is redeemed...)
developmentally, it seems that in just the last few days you've really "grown up" and turned into an alert baby! you're cooing and tracking objects and are much more reinforcing to mommy! we just started doing tummy time this week (mommy's a little behind on the times...hopefully it won't stunt you for life)! you don't fuss when you're on your activity mat on your tummy, so i assume that you like it. sometimes i think you like it TOO MUCH because you fall asleep!
