you will be one year in only one month! that's crazy--i just can't wrap my brain around that! we've settled into a comfortable life as a family of three. you are such a joy and delight to be around! we love you very much and can't believe we had a life before you!
there's a lot coming up in the next few weeks! mommy and daddy are going away for two nights this weekend to celebrate daddy's birthday while you stay with grandma h. she and grandpa h are very excited to spend quality time with you without mommy around. :) then, after a week of normal life, mommy and daddy leave for their anniversary trip. then, it's another week of normal life before we celebrate your big O-N-E! :) that's A LOT OF STUFF in a short period of time! mommy will try to keep her sanity! ;)
at 11 months you...
...can give kisses on request
...do NOT like having your diaper or your clothes changed. you don't want to lie still that long! and you REALLY don't want to lay down for this picture anymore!! mommy had to call in for backup to get this picture--as you can see daddy's forearm in the picture.
...pull to stand on any and everything and cruise on the furniture more smoothly each day
...crawl up like a big boy instead of army crawl
...are still learning how to drink from the straw sippy cup but are doing VERY WELL with self-feeding. you get it that things go in your mouth, but sometimes you overgeneralize.
...absolutely LOVE rough housing in your playyard and on the couch! mommy's just waiting for your reaction when you do a somersault!
...play peekaboo, especially while in your playyard
...entertain yourself in the bathtub trying to catch the bar of soap
...took your first long car ride to jacksonville to visit the fitcher farm! you didn't seem to mind the drive and really LOVED it there! especially their dogs! :)

...seem to know the word "bath" and "eat" as you start crawling in the direction of the tub or highchair whenever you hear those words!
...have graduated to 9 month size sleepers and rompers, but still wear 6 month size onesies and pants. the pants are getting a little short though!
...pickup books, toys, puppets, etc. and show them to mommy and daddy like--"come play with this with me"
...wave occasionally and gesture at things you want or want us to see all the time!
...LOVE dogs! did i mention that?!? ;)
...are working on "high 5" with daddy
...play in the cabinets while we are cooking in the kitchen
...LOVE crawling through the tunnel at playgroup and stand with your hands in the middle of the drum, sometimes blocking the other kids from playing. you DO NOT like it when mommy tries to correct you!
...see EVERYTHING on our walks--squirrels, dogs (even if they're a 1/4 mile away), cats, birds flying in the sky and LOVE the cars that pass by! mommy and daddy can't wait to take you to the zoo! sadly it looks like we won't have time to go before your first birthday. does that make mommy and daddy bad parents??
