my sweet boy,
wow! time sure is flyin'! i still call you "baby" and then immediately think--"he's really NOT a baby anymore, when are you going to stop calling him 'baby'?" i tell myself you will no longer be "baby" when there is another baby in the house! ;)
i don't remember you being a tiny baby; i have to look at pictures to remember the size you were in the beginning...the yawns that made me smile so much...the full body stretches. i've been looking at "old" pictures of you, since i've FINALLY started working on your first year book! my (lofty) goal is to have it finished by the beginning of august (because i have a groupon for blurb that expires then). i'm at 2 months--more than a year behind! lofty is understatement!
on with the update...
you...
...have 12 teeth!
...will choose a book over a toy. EVERY.TIME.
...are wearing 12 month sleepers! apparently it's time to size-up when you are putting holes in the feet!
...have quite the vocabulary! current "words" are: dog, mama, dada, duck, squirrel, bird, papa, up, ball, bread, down and bye-bye
...still love to go on "a wah" (a walk)
...follow more and more simple instructions daily--when you feel like complying, that is!
...climb into boxes and baskets any chance you get!
...touch your eyes, nose, ears, hair (and show your) tongue on command
...sign "more", "drink" and "all done"
...have a love for bread, especially garlic bread and bagels, and canned green beans, just like your daddy!
...get on and off your ride-on toy that grandma and grandpa heisserer got you for your birthday all by yourself and can walk fabulously with your walker or a finger of an adult, but are not walking independently. mommy will begin to worry in your aren't walking by 16 months, but not until then.
...unstack cups and blocks, but won't stack them by yourself, but you will put rings on a peg.
...are still fighting painful bowel movements if you are off of miralax, but we hope to work out the right regimen for you soon--hopefully no laxative and just prune juice to help you stay comfortably regular! (sorry if that's too much information).
..."help" mommy with the laundry--the switching AND the folding! AND you "help" mommy load and run the dishwasher!
...LOVE to play "ah-ooo-gah!" you touch our noses to get us to say "ah-ooo-gah!" and even say it yourself!
...insist on sticking your foot in your mouth after a meal, once mommy's removed the tray on your highchair
...say "bye-bye" whenever we put on our shoes or if we say "let's go"
...went to the zoo
and
...cocoa beach for the first time!
