first laugh

you laughed for the first time on sunday!

daddy was playing airplane with you and the sweet sound escaped your lips! it was SO CUTE!

mommy was happy that she was there to hear it. she got you to do a little laugh yesterday, but your laughs for daddy have been the best!

you're becoming quite the big boy! mommy says this because...

...you're getting too long for your 0-3 month size sleepers and your 0-3 month size socks are getting to be too small
{mommy just LOVES you in footed pjs...have i mentioned this already??}

...car rides are no longer guaranteed naptimes

...you're rolling onto your side (and even rolled all the way onto your tummy on mommy's birthday! she went to check on you after hearing a whimper during naptime to find you all the way on your tummy! you haven't done it again which leads mommy to believe you cheated and used the side of the crib to help you) ;)

...your head control only continues to improve and you're THISCLOSE to holding your head up unassisted while being carried for extended periods of time (although you still bobble around in your bumbo)
...and...

...you're, more often than not, sneezing single sneezes instead of sneezing in threes or fours (five is your current record! mommy thought it was six, but daddy thinks it's five...)

some other things you're doing these days:

...scratching your sheets before you go to sleep at naptime (since mommy still puts you in the straight jacket for bedtime)

...smiling LIKE CRAZY! mommy or daddy will come into your line of sight and you'll smile the BIGGEST SMILE EVER, almost to say, 'oh wow! you're back! i didn't know if you'd come back! but i'm SO HAPPY that you're here!' mommy REALLY wants to get this on video!

...sleeping on your side during naptime with your hands by your oh-so-precious pacifier!

...have your hands in your mouth ALL. THE. TIME. (mommy thinks you're teething) and drool on your chin or shirt or blanket or mommy or all of the above! :)

...and of course, mommy can't forget the vocalizations! you were cooing like crazy until 11 weeks, then you became FASCINATED with blowing bubbles and gurgling and just playing with your lips and mouth in general. now, you do what mommy and daddy call "serious talking." it's mostly cute but sometimes annoying. mommy liked your cooing a little better she thinks. ;)

...oh, and you went in the pool for the first time over the 4th of july weekend while we were at aunt cheri's! here's your FIRST reaction to the giant bathtub (that you have to wear clothes AND a diaper in)
